Accommodation

Information about the University accommodation available for students on the International Foundation Programme (IFP).

IFP students have three different University housing options to choose from: John Burnett House (catered), Salisbury Court (self-catered) and Morgan Court (self-catered).

The following costs are indicative for the 2026/27 academic year:

Accommodation Options

 

1. John Burnett House

Large ensuite, catered

Total cost: £14,513.03

Contract Dates: 12 September 2026 until 13 June 2027

Catered Accommodation based at the University's Pollock Halls. Overlooked by the impressive Arthur's Seat, one of Edinburgh's most famous landmarks, it's a local favourite for hiking and outdoor activities. The accommodation is approximately a 20-minute walk from the Holyrood Campus where classes take place. All rooms include an ensuite bathroom.

2. Salisbury Court

Standard ensuite, self-catered

Total cost: £12,129

Contract Dates: 12 September 2026 until 9 July 2027

This self-catered accommodation is located on St Leonard's Street, which is about a 20-minute walk from the Holyrood Campus. Rooms are within cluster flats that vary from six to ten persons. All rooms include an ensuite bathroom and communal access to a well-equipped kitchen.

3. Morgan Court

Total cost (Standard ensuite, self-catered): £8,658.40

Total cost (Large ensuite, self-catered): £10,636.68

Contract Dates: 12 September 2026 until 13 June 2027

Self-catered accommodation located just two minutes from the Holyrood Campus. Each room is within a three, four or five bedroom flat. All rooms include an ensuite bathroom with communal access to a well-equipped kitchen.

Safety & Security

All of our accommodation options offer 24-hour security provided by our Community Support Team. Resident Assistants live in each block and are on duty every evening for additional support.

How to Apply

Once you have an unconditional offer holder, you can apply for student accommodation. The form to apply will be emailed to you and can also be found on your IFP offer holder hub. 

Once you have submitted this form, our Accommodation team will be in touch with further details on how to accept your offer of accommodation. Please look out for their e-mail.

Please note: you cannot apply for accommodation until you are an unconditional offer holder.
