Our location in Edinburgh is central to our engagement with the creative arts, where CAHSS researchers lead the way with innovative approaches to engaging different types of publics. Sustainable researchOur researchers work with private sector companies, social enterprises, trade and regulatory bodies, contributing to the economy in sustainable and socially responsible ways. We support CAHSS researchers to influence decision-makers in local, national, and international governments, elected and public bodies, often through enabling collaborations with NGOs, advocacy organisations and other intermediaries. We have strong connections to UK, Scottish and other devolved government and parliaments, as well as overseas governments and international governmental bodies and agencies.Collaborative researchWe support CAHSS researchers to influence decision-makers in local, national, and international governments, elected and public bodies, often through enabling collaborations with NGOs, advocacy organisations and other intermediaries. We have strong connections to UK, Scottish and other devolved government and parliaments, as well as overseas governments and international governmental bodies and agencies. We have a successful record of extensive engagement with artists, museum and gallery curators, teachers, health and social care professionals and other service providers in the UK and overseas. We work to provide a collection of resources to aid the learning and development of researchers and professional services colleagues alike to find ways to improve how we track and record evidence of impact. We have also co-produced research leading to implementation of guidance and toolkits, research informing continuous professional development and new tools and technologies improving performance. Our world leading multidisciplinary research across 11 schools and the Edinburgh Futures Institute has multifaceted impact on society, culture, the economy, and professional practice across a number of occupations and industries. This continues to be reflected in our high-quality contribution to the Research Excellence Framework.
