Research strategy and support

Our support structures function to foster engagement and enable a positive and inspiring environment, which enhances the development of our research, our researchers and the impact of our work within and beyond CAHSS.

Facilitating opportunities for knowledge exchange and development is central to this, from how we track and record evidence of impact to how we recognise and celebrate the achievements of colleagues.

In CAHSS our Strategic Action Plan aligns with the three University’s Research & Innovation Strategy 2030 main areas.

Our research strategy is aiming to improve upon the outstanding quality and impact of our 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) results.

In 2019 we adopted 9 broad, interdisciplinary themes across our schools to foster new collaborations and partnerships across industry, policy and practice.

We are committed to making our research work fully and freely available through Open Research. Find out more about our strategy, its impact and browse our Open Access publications.

Our funding toolkit model helps support the breadth of research approaches, methods and themes across Schools and disciplines.

We promote a dynamic and inclusive culture of research in line with the University's research ethos.

The College's ethics framework is an important part of our research culture and research communications.

Our researchers aim to have local, national and global reach, working across all communities sectors in sustainable and socially responsible ways.
