Help us shape the new joiner experience in CAHSS by sharing your experience. We're listening. We recognise that starting a new job can be quite challenging, and we want to do what we can to ensure this experience is a positive one. We’d be incredibly grateful if you could answer a few questions to help us in these efforts and take necessary action. Of course, we want to be respectful of your time so it’s not an exhaustive survey but if there’s anything you would like to provide feedback on that we haven’t asked, please do provide this in the free-text comment boxes below. We will contact you again at the end of your first few months and finally at the end of your first 12 months with us. All responses will be anonymous. We ask for your School/area of employment, your role type and some background information as we know that experiences may differ based on any or all of these factors. Your demographic information also helps us better understand different groups of respondents but please feel free to mark questions you do not feel comfortable answering with 'prefer not to say'. Results will never be discussed at an individual level, only at an aggregate level, and no attempts will be made to identify you. If a combination of unique demographic characteristics makes it possible to identify you, it will not be used in our statistical reporting. We will retain the list of new joiners who we've sent the surveys to for 18 months to ensure they are not included in subsequent surveys then this will be deleted. Responses will be shared with those responsible for induction and the new joiner experience strategically (e.g. College Staff Experience Committee and College EDI Committee and locally e.g. HR offices) for the purpose of analysing trends and enhancing the processes and working practices. We will review your submissions and analyse the data 4 times per year. If you have any questions about how your data will be used and/or stored, please contact the College Head of Staff Experience at natasha.collinson@ed.ac.uk This article was published on 2024-08-28
