We also offer a phone service from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. If you are a current applicant, please allow us to assist you more quickly by having either your UCAS personal ID or University of Edinburgh UUN ready when you call.

We advise and support current & prospective CAHSS study abroad and exchange students (‘visiting students’).

Availability

  • Monday to Wednesday, 9am-5pm, by phone (and pre-booked in-person appointments for current visiting students during term-time);
  • Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, by email (and pre-booked online appointments for current visiting students during term-time).
  • We are not currently available on a drop-in basis.
  • To book an appointment with your assigned Student Advisor in the VSO, please email vso@ed.ac.uk.
  • For urgent emotional support in a crisis, please phone the VSO on the above phone number (Monday to Wednesday, 9am-5pm only), or the Chaplaincy Listening Service on +44(0)131 650 2595.

Visiting Student Office (VSO) visitors requiring admittance to the building will be instructed to phone the VSO on the above number, and a VSO staff member will meet them at the door to 56 George Square (or 58 George Square if the student requires the accessible entrance).
