Lecture abstract

This inaugural lecture reflects on an academic career with the University of Edinburgh for the practice of nursing. Coming perhaps more from the heart than the head, the passion for this discipline is explored alongside the privileges such a career has afforded. Struggles, challenges and future opportunities are considered from a personal perspective looking to reinforce the abiding purpose of nurse education within a top University.
