Scottish independence Nicola McEwen, of the University’s School of Social & Political Science, has been guesting on ABC Radio in Australia. Saturday Extra host Norman Swan spoke to her about the launch of the Yes Campaign for the referendum on Scottish independence. Scottish Vivaldi discovery Andrew Woolley, a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in Music at the University, recently took part in BBC Radio 4 programme on a Vivaldi flute concerto that he discovered in the National Archives of Scotland in 2010. The programme, called Tales from the Stave, tells the story of the concerto, how it reached Scotland, and the research that went into finding more about the concerto and creating a version for modern performance. Egyptian Mummies Elena Kranioti, of the University’s School of History, Classics and Archaeology, has been speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour about her involvement in the National Museums of Scotland’s Fascinating Mummies exhibition. Europe David Howarth, also of the University’s School of Social and Political Science, has been speaking to BBC Radio Scotland’s Newsweek programme about French-German relations. Greece Prof Drew Scott, of the University’s School of Law, has been speaking to BBC Radio Scotland about the latest political developments in Greece.
