A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art has won DegreeArt’s Signature Art Prize 2012. Image Hans K Clausen, 2012 winner of the Signature Art Prize Hans K Clausen, who graduated with a BA (Hons) in Sculpture earlier this year, won the sculpture category with his piece, ‘Notion’. Hans beat off competition from over 500 submissions and 40 finalists. His prize includes representation by DegreeArt.com and £1,000, as well as gifts from the award’s sponsors. Elinor Olisa, Director of DegreeArt, said: “The beauty of Hans’ achievement with ‘Notion’ is that through its structured simplicity he communicates so much to the viewer. The assembled work on display at the Gala instantly became a part of the space as much due to its size as the audiences’ participation with it. “Meeting Hans brought the work further to life for us.
