Three students in the College of Humanities and Social Science have won Undergraduate Awards. The international prizes recognise some of the most creative and nuanced academic ideas at undergraduate level across 25 disciplines. Academic awards The successful Edinburgh studentssubmitted an article they had written as part of their course. The articles were judged by a panel of leading academics. The winners' work will be published in the UA academic journal, which is sent to university libraries across the world. It felt like a real acknowledgement of my continuing academic commitment. Shion GosraniNursing and midwifery student Award winners The winning students will collect their award at a ceremony in Dublin on 18 November. The successful students from Edinburgh are: Shion Gosrani (Nursing and Midwifery) Sandra Lukic (Languages and Linguistics) Joe Thomson (Classical Studies and Archaeology) Valuable network As part of their prize, winners are invited to a three-day networking event which aims to bring together some of the brightest and most innovative students in the world. I was very excited and felt a huge sense of achievement. I knew it was a good essay and expected to be short-listed but certainly didn't think it was an international winner!
