New College Registrar

The College of Humanities and Social Science is pleased to announce that Dr Catherine Martin has been appointed as the new College Registrar.

Dr Martin joins Edinburgh from the University of Glasgow where she is currently College Secretary in the College of Arts.

She holds a Master of Arts in English Literature and French, and a PhD in French Literature and Language.

After teaching French at the University of St Andrews, Dr Martin trained as a Chartered Accountant. She then worked in audit and corporate finance for global accountancy firms, Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and Mazars LLP, before joining the University of Glasgow in 2010.

She is also a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council Audit Committee.

Dr Martin's diverse expertise will bring a wealth of experience to the role of College Registrar. I am delighted she is joining us, and very much look forward to working with her.

Dr Martin will join the University on 27 April taking up her role in the senior management of the College and leading the professional services across the College, comprising 11 Schools and more than 20,000 students.

I am delighted to be joining the University of Edinburgh at what is an exciting time. I am very much looking forward to using my experience of working both within and outside Higher Education to lead a professional administrative team which enables the College of Humanities & Social Science and all of its staff and students to build on their considerable successes to date.
