Professor Peter Higgins recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

We are delighted to announce that Professor Peter Higgins, Chair in Outdoor Environmental & Sustainability Education at Moray House School of Education and Sport, has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List.

This national recognition celebrates Professor Higgins’ influential work in outdoor learning, environmental education, and education for sustainable development. His contributions have informed public policy and practice, particularly in areas such as access to nature, land reform, and environmental sustainability.
