Information on stipend and fee payments for College Research, Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarship, Principal Career Development Scholarship award holders Award Duration Unless otherwise specified in your terms and conditions, awards are normally made for the length of a PhD programme (3 years FTE), which equates to 12 payments for the duration of your study. Award Payments Principal Career Development Scholarship (PCDS) and Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarship (EDCS) award holders are paid by the Postgraduate Research Student Office. College Research Award (CRA) holders who joined before Sept 2022 are paid by their School Postgraduate office. For those joining from September 2022, you are paid by the Postgraduate Research Student Office. Prior to monthly payment being made, your student status and engagement will be checked to ensure that you are progressing and that you are not on an interruption of study. Stipend Payments Stipends are now paid to you on a monthly basis rather than in quarterly payments. As an example, your April stipend will be paid to you at the end of March. We are not able to pay stipends early under any circumstances, so please budget accordingly. The Postgraduate Research Student Office will contact new students with information about how to submit their bank details. Current students are able to update bank details using the My Ed portal. Tuition Fee Payments PCDS and EDCS holders will have their fees paid by the Scholarships and Student Funding Office. CRA holders will have their fees paid by their Schools Postgraduate Office (if tuition fee is included in the award).
