Information about SGSSS Internships Aim The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science internship scheme is open to Social Science PhD students at Scotland’s universities in their second and third years of study. Internships present opportunities to work outside the topic area of a student’s PhD to develop a range of transferable skills, enhance employability and provide the experience of working within a public, private or third sector organisation. You will be based within the host organisation for up to three months to deliver a specific project or piece of research, enabling you to make a difference outside the academy whilst developing your research skills, networks and CV to take you to the next stage of your career. Internships are full time paid positions (commensurate with Research Council doctoral stipend levels). You will pause your PhD work for the duration of the internship and will receive an extension at the end of your research period. Eligibility Open to Social Science PhD students at Scotland’s universities in their second and third years of study. Please note that students with Tier 4 visas are not eligible to apply due to the full-time working requirement of the internships currently available. Application Application details can be found on the SGSSS website here. This article was published on 2024-08-28
