The University of Edinburgh will host the UK’s next national supercomputer, following a major UK Government investment of up to £750 million. The new system, to be housed at the University’s Advanced Computing Facility, will deliver world-leading high-performance computing capabilities to support research and innovation across the UK.

This landmark development builds on Edinburgh’s decades-long leadership in supercomputing and AI, and will support advances in areas including medicine, climate science, and national security. It will significantly exceed the capacity of ARCHER2, the current UK national supercomputer, also hosted by the University.

We welcome the vast opportunities this investment will create for research, innovation and economic growth.
